Type Locality and Naming

Column: Zagros belt (general), Column: Iran East. (According to the paper, Khaneh Kat is a separate formation below these Adaiyah, Mus, and, Alan layers. However, according to the chart, Khaneh Kat is the formation and Adaiyah, Mus, and, Alan are shown as if members or regional-facies-equivalents? of the formation.)

Lithology and Thickness

Dominantly dark gray, very fine-grained to porcellaneous, siliceous, thin to medium, evenly bedded dolomite. Minor contemporaneous slump and brecciation features occur in the upper 400 feet. A conscipicuous, massive, brown, porous, crystalline dolomite forms the top of the unit. 300 feet of anhydrite. (According to the paper, Khaneh Kat is a seperate formation below Adaiyah, Mus, and, Alan layers, however, according to the chart, Khaneh Kat is the formation and Adaiyah, Mus, and, Alan are members of the formation.)
